Lauren Huset is a certified operating room nurse (CNOR) and orthopedic certified nurse (ONC) at Parkland Hospital, where she has almost 6 years of perioperative nursing experience; recently, Lauren has transitioned into a leadership role in the operating room as a associate nurse manager for vascular and plastic surgery. Her clinical specialties include total joint replacement, orthopedic trauma, and orthopedic oncology. Lauren is an active leader within her institution, previously serving as chair of the Operating Room Unit-Based Council, which she successfully reestablished in the post-COVID era. She is also a Magnet Champion, supporting the hospital’s journey toward nursing excellence, and served as a guide during Parkland's first Magnet site visit, ultimately leading to their first faciltiy designation. Her involvement in shared governance and hospital-based councils has driven quality improvement initiatives and fostered professional development across the perioperative team.
