Professor Filiz Ogce Aktas graduated from Ege University Nursing in 1990 and completed her MSc (1998) and PhD (2004) in Surgical Nursing at Ege University Institute of Health Sciences. After working as a clinical nurse at Ege University Hospital (1990–2001), she began her academic career at Ege University Ataturk School of Health in 2001, became Associate Professor in 2010 and Professor in 2015. Since 2014, she has been the Founding Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences at Izmir University of Economics. She is President of the Turkish Surgical and Operating Room Nurses Association and Türkiye representative in EORNA and IFPN. Her academic work focuses on perioperative nursing, particularly surgical site infections, wound healing, surgical smoke, and patient safety.
