Dr. Munro is a perioperative practice expert with emphasis on perioperative pressure injury prevention. She created the Munro Pressure Injury Risk Assessment Scale for Adult Perioperative Patients and the CMUNRO SCALE curriculum. She is internationally known for her research, education, and perioperative practice consultation. Currently, she is a Nurse Scientists at Stanford Healthcare and a Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Primary Care and Population Health at Stanford School of Medicine both in Northern CA. She has served two terms as the Chair of the Association of periOperative registered Nursing (AORN) National Research Committee, President of the San Francisco Bay Area AORN Chapter, and is a member on the Award for Excellence Selection Panel. She was the 2023 recipient of the Award for Excellence from AORN, the highest honor bestowed by AORN. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and as a Fellow of AORN. She believes divine destiny and intertwine has guided her purpose driven life. Dr. Munro is currently on the AORN National Ballot for the position of Secretary.
