Brian MacNeel was born in Virginia and raised in Florida. In June 1982, Brian entered the US Army. He was an honor graduate out of Basic Training. He continued his honor graduate status throughout Advanced Individual Training, Airborne School and Ranger leadership training to become a Medic in the 2nd’75th Ranger Battalion Recon Platoon. He was an instructor in Ranger School in hand-to-hand combat and later served as the combat medic and bodyguard for the commanding general of the renowned 82nd Airborne Division. Brian cheated death in a near fatal parachute accident in training exercise on August 26, 1986. After 2-1/2 years of hospitalization and intensive rehabilitation he found his Army career ended abruptly and he was medically retired from the Army in 1989.
Brian entered the University of Florida while completing the last phase of his physical therapy at Gainesville’s V.A. Medical Center. He graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice and Minor in Business Administration. Brian’s engaging personality has risen Brian to an accelerated level in teaching Crime Prevention. He has become a Crime Prevention Practitioner after attending Florida Crime Prevention Training Institute under the auspices of the Office of the Florida Attorney General. Brian has spoken to thousands of groups and conventions over his 28 years in Crime Prevention He has now successfully transformed the stereotypical “boring” Crime Prevention Program into an entertaining and educational experience.
