Chasity Rhoads obtained her BSN at Marshall University in Huntington, WV in 2008. She began her nursing career directly in the operating room at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, WV, where she worked in a variety of surgical specialties, with a focus on Ortho Trauma, for 2 years. Following this, she moved to Greensboro, NC, where she learned cardiothoracic surgery at Moses Cone Hospital and practiced as an RN First Assistant in cardiac surgery. After 8 years of operating room experience, she became a travel nurse in the CVOR for 8 years, working in New Hampshire, Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Idaho. She has also served as a volunteer on multiple medical mission trips to Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti as a perioperative scrub nurse. Her passion for precepting and cardiac surgery led her to obtain her Masters in Nursing Education at University of North Carolina Wilmington. In January of 2025, she took a position as the RN Clinical Educator of the CVOR at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA, where she shares her passion with those new to the CVOR while working on her professional development as a new educator.
