Melissa Howell, a Dallas native, is a CST with three and a half years of scrub experience, two and a half of which have been at a Level I Trauma Center. As a surgical technologist at Parkland Hospital, she has the opportunity to scrub in a variety of service lines, however, Gyn-Oncology and Trauma are her passion. She is the Operating Room Unit Based Council Chair and is also a member of the units RSI Workgroup. Both of these have provided the opportunity to help bring forward improvements that positively impact both the patient population Parkland serves, as well as her colleagues. This is her first AORN Conference and she looks forward to presenting along with her group.
