Erick Black is a passionate healthcare professional adept at coordinating skilled,
cross-functional personnel while developing and implementing strategic
programs, policies, and initiatives. As a former leader of Perioperative Business
Operations, he supported leadership by developing and providing effective
programs, systems, and processes for the business operations for all
perioperative services, among other responsibilities. As a Lead Surgical
Assistant, he possesses a wide range of clinical knowledge and skills throughout
various surgical disciplines, including but not limited to cardiothoracic, orthopedic,
robotic, and cesarean deliveries.
Erick finished his initial surgical assistant training in 1997. He obtained his
certification from the National Commission for the Certification of Surgical
Assistants and his license from the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Medicine.
He completed his BS in Healthcare Administration in 2018 and his MBA in 2021
from the University of Maryland Global Campus. He also obtained Finance and
Sustainable Business Strategy certificates from Harvard Business School,
Boston, MA, in 2019
