I am currently a Lead Clinical Nurse in Pediatric Operating Room at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. A registered nurse for 32 years. A former Nurse Corps Officer with a rank of First Lieutenant in the Armed Forces of the Philippines for 6 years. Worked for two years in the Theater (Operating Room), at Frimley Park Hospital, Surrey, UK. Some of the key points in my career to underscore were when I received the 2011 JHH OR Clinical Excellence Award, I was also recognized as the 2016 AJ Salley Awardee. Last year I was awarded the 2024 Leadership and Professional Practice Award and was likewise nominated for the Daisy Award. I was also a part of the committee that developed COVID+ Negative Pressure room Pathway. I have previously submitted an AORN Poster entitled S.O.R.T. (Search for Operating Room Trash). My SORT project was featured in the Outpatient Magazine under "Ideas @ Work" column.
Outside of work. I was a professional singer, I love to choreograph dances. I play drums. I have created Pediatric Safety Videos. Our Peds OR won First Place in the Armstrong Institute for Safety Video Contest. Designed a unit poster capped "Pediatric AvengeORs: Heroes without Capes. We bagged 2nd Place in the recently concluded Armstrong Institute for Safety and Quality Expo Video Contest for the entire Johns Hopkins Enterprise.
