Katie Vaughan is a perioperative nurse and clinical educator with over 10 years of experience in surgical nursing. She serves as Chair of the Clinical Practice Empowerment Committee at OCOM Hospital and was recognized as one of the 2025 Great 100 Nurses of Oklahoma for her leadership and dedication to nursing excellence.
Katie is a passionate advocate for surgical smoke evacuation and has led statewide efforts to advance related legislation in Oklahoma. She is actively involved in professional organizations, including the AORN National Education Committee, and the eChapter Nominating and Member Engagement Committees, as well as the Oklahoma Nurses Association. Through her work, she is committed to educating and empowering nurses to elevate their practice and impact.
