AGCNS DNP Resident
Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences
My name is MAJ Jehna Larivee, and I am an AGCNS student in the GSN at USUHS. I graduated from Saint Anselm College with a BSN in 2010 while attending the University of New Hampshire's ROTC program. Following graduation, I was commissioned into the Army Nurse Corps and have served at Eisenhower Army Medical Center on the medical-surgical floor, Keller Army Community Hospital in the emergency room, Irwin Army Community Hospital in the operating room (OR), and Tripler Army Medical Center in the OR and sterile processing department (SPD).
My interests in medicine lie within the OR and SPD. My research interests include sterile processing procedures and OR standards. By maintaining appropriate standards, we can improve intraoperative surgical procedures and promote better surgical outcomes and recovery for our military service members and their dependents. The OR and SPD have numerous nuances that can be leveraged to improve healthcare in the OR and throughout the hospital. I look forward to exploring these topics further in the AGCNS program.
During my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have been married to my husband, Scott, for 15 years, and we have two children, Kaelyn and Holten. We also have a chocolate lab named Kallie. We enjoy exploring the areas where we have been stationed, including hiking, sampling the local cuisine, and experiencing all that the communities have to offer. We also enjoy baking, playing board games, and simply spending time together at home.
