Colonel Christopher Stucky serves as Perioperative Consultant to the Army Surgeon General and as the Chief Nursing Officer for Brian D. Allgood Army Community Hospital, Camp Humphreys, Korea. COL Stucky, a native of Winter Haven, Florida, has 33 years of Army service. His education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Colorado, a Master of Science in Nursing Informatics, and a Ph.D. in Nursing from Uniformed Services University. COL Stucky is a graduate of the Army War College with a Master of Strategic Studies degree.
COL Stucky developed a comprehensive research portfolio comprising 18 studies with over $6M in funding, supporting healthcare quality, safety, and care for the Warfighter. His research has garnered 18 awards, with extensive dissemination of over 50 manuscripts and 90 presentations at 36 national and global conferences.
Dr. Stucky has extensive service leading and serving national nursing organizations. He serves as Vice President at the CCI Research Consortium, which awards $200K in annual grants to advance perioperative nursing science and enhance patient care through research. His service includes the Alumni Council for Jonas Nursing and Veterans Healthcare, the AORN National Research Committee, and as Army Director of the TriService Nursing Research Program (TSNRP) Biobehavioral Research Interest Group. Dr. Stucky has attained full professional status and national prominence as a nursing expert by earning the AMEDD 9A Designator, induction as a Fellow in the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), and induction as a Fellow of the Association of PeriOperative Registered Nurses (FAORN). He was awarded the 2025 AMSUS Nursing Leadership Award, 2024 Military Health System Senior Leader Award, and the prestigious Dr. Anita Newcomb McGee Award as the 2022 Army Nurse of the Year.
COL Stucky and his wife, Michelle, have four children, three of whom are Army and Air Force servicemembers.
