Nemours Children's Health - Delaware
Wilmington, Delaware, United States
Dr. Shanique Brown Kilgallon, MD, FAAP is a Pediatric Anesthesiologist at Nemours Children’s Health in Wilmington, DE, and Clinical Associate Professor of Anesthesiology & Pediatrics at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University. She earned her medical degree from NYU School of Medicine, completed anesthesiology training at the University of Pennsylvania, and pursued fellowship training in pediatric anesthesiology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
As Director of Clinician Well-being for the Delaware Valley region of Nemours Children’s Health, Dr. Kilgallon partners with the Chief Wellness Officer and Chief Medical Officer to lead strategic initiatives that support the well-being of physicians and advanced practice providers across the hospital. Her work is deeply informed by her active clinical practice in the operating room and a focused commitment to fostering psychological safety, belonging, and resilience, particularly within perioperative and high-acuity care teams.
Prior to her position as Director of Clinician Well-being, Dr. Kilgallon was a local leader in her department and serves as Perioperative Director of Collaborative Services who founded the Microaffirmations in Perioperative Personnel Project (the MAPP Project), a program designed to promote well-being in high-stress clinical environments. The project gained substantial traction because of its co‑development with frontline anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses and other perioperative personnel with its emphasis on practical, behavior‑based strategies that directly supported effective communication, and team cohesion.
Regionally, Dr. Kilgallon also holds leadership roles as Vice President of the Delaware Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and co-chairs its JEDI Committee, where she acts as the Activity Director of its robust webinar educational series.
