Erica Basora, MSN, RN, NPD-BC, CNOR is a distinguished nursing leader, educator, and advocate with a dynamic career spanning perioperative practice, education, and healthcare innovation. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from Grand Canyon University and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Central Florida.
A certified operating room nurse and Clinical Specialist with Sanara MedTech, Erica has led surgical services education and quality improvement initiatives focused on patient safety, wound care, and evidence-based practice. Her work supports multidisciplinary teams in advancing clinical outcomes and operational excellence across perioperative settings.
Erica currently serves on the 2025–2026 AORN National Nominating Committee, is a board member for AORN Peach State, and is the Chair of the Georgia Council of periOperative Registered Nurses, where she is deeply committed to leadership development, advocacy, and elevating professional nursing standards.
In addition to her clinical leadership, Erica is a published author of children’s health literacy books, such as Little Miss Goes to Surgery and an accomplished consultant and speaker. She is a passionate advocate for surgical smoke evacuation and has presented at national conferences, including AORN Expo, sharing expertise on perioperative innovation, education, and empowering nurses to amplify their voices both inside and outside the operating room.
