Vernessa Glenn Glover, MBA, MHA, BSN, RN, NEA-BC, is the Director of Quality, Patient Safety, and Care Innovation for Surgical Services at Emory Healthcare, where she brings over 20 years of healthcare experience and leadership across inpatient, ambulatory, and post-acute care settings. With a dual master’s in business and healthcare administration and a clinical foundation in nursing, Vernessa is known for her ability to bridge clinical excellence with strategic innovation.
At Emory, she leads transformative initiatives to enhance perioperative services, optimize workflows, and improve patient outcomes. Her leadership has driven major quality improvement projects, including standardizing universal protocols across multiple hospitals and spearheading Epic EHR transition readiness efforts. Vernessa has held executive and managerial roles at academic medical centers and community hospitals, where she managed multimillion-dollar service lines, led large interdisciplinary teams, and implemented care models that consistently improved patient satisfaction, safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
She is board-certified as a Nurse Executive-Advanced and is a Lean Six Sigma-trained change leader. She is deeply committed to advancing equity, safety, and excellence in healthcare delivery.
Beyond her professional achievements, Vernessa is an active community leader and mentor, having served on nonprofit boards and leading youth leadership development initiatives through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and Jack and Jill of America, Incorporated. She was honored as a 2019 Woman of Influence by the Springfield Business Journal.
