Jess brings over 35 years of diverse nursing experience to his current role as a nurse educator. His career began in 1987 as a nursing assistant, leading to his LPN in 1990. He then earned his RN from Hawkeye Community College in Waterloo, Iowa, in 1998.
Dedicated to lifelong learning, Jess continued his education at Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where he obtained his BSN in 2015 and his MSN in 2016.
Throughout his extensive career, Jess has held a variety of impactful positions, including roles in CVICU, PACU, OR, Hospice, Long-Term Care (LTC), and as a Triage Call Nurse. He currently leverages this rich experience as a nurse educator for pre/intraoperative/postoperative nursing at the Ambulatory Surgery Center at University of Iowa Healthcare.
