Leticia C. Wilkes, DNP, RN, CNE, has been a registered nurse for 20 years. Dr. Wilkes received her ADN from Central Texas College in 2004, her BSN in 2012, her MSN in 2016, and her DNP in 2021 from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
Dr. Wilkes has been with the Nursing Professional Development Department (NPD) for the last eight years, holding various roles within the department. Most currently is the NPD manager at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Temple, Texas. Dr. Wilkes has worked in various healthcare systems in Texas, Alaska, and Washington with experience in Acute Care, Progressive Care, Cardiac Cath Lab, Quality and Patient Safety, and Nursing Education, where she has developed a competency-based curriculum. She served as shared faculty for CTC in Spring 2017, Temple College for Fall 2017-Fall 2019, and adjunct faculty for UMHB for Fall 2016-Spring 2023.
Dr. Wilkes’s professional goal has been to become a leader and role model to help staff nurses gain the skills and experience they need as we adjust to today’s changing health care and ensure they reach their personal and professional goals to their fullest potential. Dr. Wilkes’s motto has always been to maintain a positive environment, which then creates a productive environment.
