Dr Oluponle Olubajo (PhD), known as Ponle, is a dedicated and highly motivated nurse driven to impart knowledge and promote professional development in diverse healthcare roles. With over a decade of experience in Perioperative Nursing, both internationally and in the United States, she has made significant contributions to the nursing field through her multifaceted roles at the prestigious Mayo Clinic.
At Mayo Clinic, Dr Olubajo serves as a Nursing Education Specialist for Surgical Services, the Associate Director of the Perioperative RN Fellowship, and the Program Director of the Central Services and Surgical Technician Clinical Rotation. In these capacities, she leverages her extensive expertise to enhance the skills and knowledge of nursing professionals, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
Dr Olubajo holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing degree from Walden University, a Master’s in Nursing from Grand Canyon University with an emphasis on Leadership and is a Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) and a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR). She further advanced her clinical skills by completing the Registered Nurse First Assist (RNFA) program with the National Institute of First Assisting and holds an Emeritus status of the Registered Nurse Assistant at Surgery-Certified (RNAS-C (E)).
Her diverse experience includes serving as an Adjunct Nursing Faculty at Chamberlain University, where she inspires and mentors the next generation of nurses. She was also a recipient of the 2024 AORN Under40 Emerging Leadership Award, indicating her dedication to outstanding perioperative nursing care and leadership.
