Gloria Demeno, MSN, RN, currently serves as the manager of perioperative services at Allegheny Valley Hospital. Gloria received her diploma in nursing from Citizens School of Nursing, her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Waynesburg University, and her Master of Science degree in nursing education from Indiana University. Gloria oversees the endoscopy department, ambulatory surgery unit, post-anesthesia care unit, and pre-admission testing department. In 2004, Gloria was recognized as the STAR RN for excelling in the unit-based leader role as a charge nurse. She is passionate about surgical safety and in fulfillment of her degree requirements for her master's degree in nursing education she developed training to prevent retained surgical items which has been adopted by the healthcare network.
