Infection Preventionist

Jennifer Haston is a Registered Nurse currently working as an Infection Preventionist at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. She earned a BSN from Texas Christian University and, before transitioning to infection prevention, she worked as a Neurology RN at UT Southwestern Medical Center and St. Joseph Regional Hospital. There, Jennifer managed acutely ill patients and took on leadership roles as a charge nurse and preceptor.
In her current role, she performs surveillance and reporting of hospital-acquired infections, performs audits to ensure compliance with infection control regulations, leads quality improvement projects to reduce infection risks, and collaborates with public health officials to control disease outbreaks. Jennifer has earned her Certification in Infection Control (CIC), as well as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification, which reflects advanced knowledge of infection prevention and control practices, as well as a dedication to healthcare quality improvement.
