I have been a nurse for over 40 years and a perioperative nurse for 33 years. I have held many roles during this time, but the role of a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner has been the most rewarding. As a Nursing Professional Development Practitioner, I focus on developing new graduate training programs, establishing competencies and processes for two surgical sites, as well as developing initiatives that advance our systems nursing practice.
