Boushra Jawad is a master’s-prepared, registered nurse at University Hospitals in Cleveland, Ohio, currently working in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. With over seven years of experience in medical-surgical and critical care nursing across Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, she brings a global perspective to patient care, communication, and safety in complex healthcare settings.
She is pursuing a Master of Nursing and Health Care Leadership at Duke University and is a proud member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. As a graduate student, Boushra aims to be at the forefront of healthcare transformation and to enhance care delivery through initiatives that drive meaningful, measurable outcomes in a value-based landscape.
Driven by a strong sense of responsibility to continuously improve patient care and reduce costs while delivering the highest quality of care, Boushra has collaborated with her preceptor and team on a patient safety initiative focused on preventing retained surgical items. This project contributes to the Zero Harm Journey at University Hospitals by developing innovative strategies to enhance surgical safety.
Through this work, she seeks to bridge clinical expertise with systems-level thinking to drive sustainable improvements in perioperative care and support safe surgical innovation.
