Petty Officer First Class Elizabeth Stack hails from LaGrange Highlands, Illinois. She enlisted in the Navy on 25 January 2005, successfully completing basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois.
She served her first tour as an Undesignated Airman assigned to Strike Fighter Squadron VFA-41 in Lemoore, CA from January 2005 to November 2006. As a member of the F-18 squadron she deployed on the U.S.S. NIMITZ(CVN 68) completing a WESTPAC cruise in support of the global war on terrorism. While stationed here, AN Stack earned her designation as Air Warfare Specialist on the F-18 Super Hornet Jet Fighter class. She cross rated, attending Hospital Corpsman “A” School from November 2006 to February 2007 in Great Lakes, IL. She completed the self-paced program at the top of her class, HM1 Stack reported to Naval School of Health Science (NSHS), Surgical Technology “C” School, Portsmouth, VA. During her time in Surgical Technician school she was advanced to Third Class Petty Officer. In December 2007 - December 2009, she served her first tour as a Hospital Corpsman at Naval Hospital Rota, Spain. She specialized in the services of Urology, General, OB-GYN, and Oral Maxillo Facial surgical services and earned her Surgical Technology Certification (CST). In January 2010 to August 2012 she was stationed at the Captain James A. Lovell Federal Health Care Center, Great Lakes, IL serving in the Orthopedic department. She was immediately tasked to Operation Unified Response, Joint Task Force-Haiti onboard the USNS COMFORT T-AH 20. At the end of this tour she was selected to Petty Officer Second Class. Upon selection for sea duty, she departed for Field Medical Training Battalion – East from August 2012 to October 2012. She reported to 1st Medical Battalion, Camp Pendleton, CA in November 2012. She deployed with Alpha Company, Combat Logistics Battalion 7 (CLB-7) to the NATO Role 3 from January 2014 to August 2014, serving as the Leading Petty Officer for the Forward Resuscitative Surgical System (FRSS) and earned the Fleet Marine Force Enlisted Warfare Specialist designation. In November 2015 to December 2018, she took an assignment to Navy Medicine Training Support Center Fort Sam Houston as a Surgical Technology (ST) Instructor. In route, she attended Navy Instructor training course earning 805A NEC. She was the ST Phase II Clinical Rotations program lead until she was promoted to Petty Officer First Class. She completed her Master Training Specialist(8MTS) NEC and was selected as Leading Petty Officer of the Surgical Technologist Program. From January 2019 to December 2021, she reported to Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Newport, RI, assigned as Leading Petty Officer for Directorate of Surgical Services and Command Career Counselor. Reporting for a tour overseas at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Guam, where she led the Directorate for Surgical Services. While there she Certified for Sterile Processing and distribution.
She is currently serving at Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Bethesda, MD as the Leading Petty Officer of Anesthesiology and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. Her decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (3), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (4), and various other service and campaign medals. Her highest educational achievement is a bachelor’s degree for Health and Human Sciences from Northern Illinois University.
