Dr. Catherine Schmitt is a full time faculty member at a comprehensive University; University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She teaches full time in the nursing program and teaches across undergraduate and graduate programs. Her clinical specialty is/was perioperative nursing, having spent 22 years of her professional nursing career in a busy OR in a Level II Trauma Center. While an full time OR nurse she earned the CNOR credential and as an academician earned emeritus status. As a full-time nursing educator she is trying to build excitement for perioperative nursing as she works diligently to build perioperative nursing into the clinical curriculum.
