Tara Willemsen is a Registered Nurse with a BScN, a Masters in Education and most recently completed the Infection Control Program through Queen’s University. Her passion for the perioperative program began while working at Johns Hopkins Hospital where she launched her nursing career and obtained her CNOR and a lifetime membership with AORN. Johns Hopkins was instrumental in laying the foundation for her cardiac operating room expertise which she would later optimize in subsequent healthcare settings across North America. Tara has a diverse background, working in large academic centers as well as small rural hospitals, fulfilling roles such as; Perioperative Educator, Clinical Manager and Program Director. She shares her passion for evidenced based practice and process improvement through both authorship and presenting. In her current role as Manager of Clinical Development, she is committed and accountable for enhancing a clinical practice environment that is patient centered, with unsurpassed clinical quality and patient safety, while ensuring nursing practice at the highest scope of licensure.
