Maria Dowling, BSN, RN, CNOR currently serves as a Perioperative Nurse at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Maria has twenty-eight years of experience in the perioperative setting, having begun her career as a Surgical Technologist before becoming a Registered Nurse. Over the course of her career, she has served in multiple roles including staff nurse, service line coordinator, and leadership support, frequently stepping in for her manager as needed. She is also an active member of the Unit Council.
As a bilingual Spanish-speaking nurse, Maria plays a vital role in supporting limited English-speaking patients and their families, often being called upon to provide culturally sensitive communication and care. She is dedicated to advancing perioperative nursing practice and ensuring compassionate, patient-centered care for all individuals undergoing surgical procedures.
