Bonnie Miller is an accomplished nursing professional with two decades of experience in high-risk obstetrics, maternal–newborn education, and statewide quality improvement. She began her nursing journey at Northwest Mississippi Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing. She later completed her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Nursing at Cumberland University. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in Memphis, reflecting her continued commitment to advancing maternal health.
For the past seven years, Bonnie has served as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist at Regional One Health, supporting Women's Services, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Inpatient Rehabilitation. In this role, she leads professional development initiatives for nurses, providers, and residents, integrating evidence-based education to strengthen clinical practice and improve patient outcomes. As the Simulation Nurse Coordinator, she develops and facilitates high-fidelity maternal and neonatal emergency simulations, traveling nationally and internationally to train interprofessional teams in crisis management and perinatal safety.
Bonnie's leadership extends statewide through her work with the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care (TIPQC), where she has served as the Maternal Quality Improvement Specialist since 2019. In this capacity, she collaborates with hospitals across Tennessee to implement maternal safety bundles, reduce preventable morbidity, and advance systems-level quality improvement.
In addition to her clinical and educational roles, Bonnie is an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Memphis Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. She is also an instructor for the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS), and AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring.
