My name is Joana Oliveira Rosa and I am the lead clinical practice educator in neurosurgical operating theatres/room (OR), based in London, United Kingdom. I am an accomplished scrub nurse and educator, and I enjoy using my skills to provide exciting education opportunities for the OR staff at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery.
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Nursing, with distinction, from Coimbra, Portugal, in 2007. Considering my passion for perioperative nursing, I moved to the United Kingdom in 2009 to work in various specialties of the OR department. In 2020, I became the educator of the neurosurgical OR.
My enthusiasm for teaching led me to graduate from King's College London University in 2023 with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Education, also with distinction. I have published various articles about the development of perioperative nursing in the Journal for periOperative Practice.
My interests include research, development, implementation and assessment of perioperative education for staff and students.
