Kerri Hensler, DNP, MPA, RN, CNOR, NEA-BC is the Senior Director of Nursing for Perioperative Services at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, where she provides strategic leadership across five campuses, including one of the nation’s leading transplant centers. In this enterprise role, Kerri oversees one of the most complex surgical programs in the country, driving innovation, quality, and operational excellence.
Kerri earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Case Western Reserve University, focusing on the health of nurse leaders, a topic featured in American Nurse Journal. Her scholarly contributions include recent publications in Nursing Management on team cohesion and multigenerational workforce engagement. She serves on the Board of the AORN NYC Chapter and the Gastroenterology Nursing Editorial Board.
A recognized thought leader, Kerri presented “Empowering New Leaders: A Relational Leadership Approach” at the 2025 AORN Leadership Summit and has delivered podium presentations at other national forums including the ANCC Magnet Conference, ASPAN and NYONL. Her work on mentorship and culture transformation earned the NYONL Regional Best Practice Award.
Kerri was honored with the AORN Emerging Leader Award and named a “Leader to Watch” by Nurse Leaders Journal. She is passionate about mentorship, professional governance, evidence-based practice, and healthy work environments that elevate nursing, leadership and patient outcomes.
