Major Mihye Sol, DNP, APRN, AGCNS-BC, CNOR, CNAMB is a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Tripler Army Medical Center whose practice focuses on the design, implementation, and sustainment of evidence-based, system-level improvements in acute care. She presently serves as the Medical–Surgical Section CNS and previously held the perioperative CNS role as well as Deputy Chief of Evidence-Based Practice within the Center for Nursing Science and Clinical Inquiry. Born and raised in Busan, South Korea, she moved to the U.S. at the age of 16. MAJ Sol received direct commission in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in 2010 after receiving her BSN from Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia, PA. In 2013, MAJ Sol successfully completed the Army Perioperative Nursing Course at Fort Sam Houston, TX. Her assignments as perioperative nurse include San Antonio Military Medical Center, Fort Sam Houston, TX, Brian Allgood Army Community Hospital, Seoul, Republic of Korea, and Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany. Prior to entering graduate education, MAJ Sol served as the only perioperative nurse for the Medical Readiness Training Exercise in Regional Hospital of Garoua, Cameroon and NATO’s Freedom Shock Mission in Poland. MAJ Sol earned her DNP from the Uniformed Services University and holds board certification in adult-gerontology CNS. Her scholarship includes a peer-reviewed publication and multiple funded and unfunded EBP initiatives spanning perioperative safety, workflow optimization, and statewide frontline nurse well-being. A frequent presenter and mentor, she contributes to professional education across local, national, and military venues; reviews manuscripts for the AORN Journal; and serves on NACNS Armed Forces Affiliate as a co-chair and Continuing Education Committee as a member. Her work has been recognized with honors such as the Order of the Iron Pen and NACNS awards for scholarly dissemination.
