Driven by a passion for innovative education and transformational leadership, Daphny is dedicated to fostering meaningful collaborations that elevate nursing practice. As an internationally educated nurse, she brings a wealth of global experience to her profession, driving groundbreaking initiatives in perioperative and neuroscience nursing.
Her contributions have shaped the field, including serving as Project Head of a COVID-19 PPE Task Force, Lead Author for the Perioperative Chapter of the Core Curriculum for Neuroscience Nursing, and Contributor to the Neuroscience Nursing Scope and Standards of Practice. Over the past twelve years, she has built strong teams at every level—local, national, and global—advancing the profession through mentorship and leadership.
Daphny has held pivotal roles within AORN, serving as past Chair of the Clinical Nurse Educator Specialty Assembly, former member of the AORN Nominating Committee, Vice President of AORN of Middle Tennessee, and most recently, a member of the AORN Board of Directors. During the height of the pandemic, she also contributed to the development of three perioperative certifications as a CCI Certification Council Member.
Now, as Perioperative Services Manager for Neurosurgery ORs at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Daphny remains devoted to leading her highly reliable team, ensuring excellence in patient care and clinical education.
