Carissa Hall RN, BSN, C-EFM, is the current Assistant Clinical Manager of Labor and Delivery at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento, where she also oversees the Labor and Delivery Operating Rooms. She leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving maternal surgical care. With 17 years of experience in labor and delivery and 7 years in leadership, Carissa has played a key role in standardizing surgical prep practices to help reduce surgical site infections. Her initiatives include implementing skin-to-skin contact in the OR, improving instrument tracking and follow-up, advancing education through simulation, and promoting innovative, patient-centered safety strategies. She is passionate about thinking outside the box to advance safety and quality for every patient.
