Jen began her nursing career as a surgical staff nurse in the main operating room at Sutter Medical Center Sacramento, where she developed an understanding of perioperative workflows and patient care. While completing her Master’s Degree in Nursing Leadership, she transitioned into a department manager role at a Level II trauma center, gaining valuable experience in operational leadership, regulatory guidelines, and leading numerous process improvement projects. Jen is heavily involved with the Sacramento Chapter of the AORN, serving as the chapter Vice President.
Since joining SHU in 2023, Jen has supported the relaunch of the PeriOp 101/OR Transition to Practice Program, Ambulatory Surgery Back to Basics, and Universal Protocol Education for the Surgery Center Division. In her current role she oversees Sutter Health's porfollio of Perioperative education.
