Venessa Pillai MSN, APRN FNP-BC, has been the Manager of the Center for Care and Discovery (CCD) Operating Room since 2023. Priot to that, she worked as a RN and charge RN on night shift in the CDOR handling complex cases and managing staffing and volume in the CDOR. In Venessa's role she helps provide administrative support to the afternoon shift in the CDOR managing case volumes, scheduling and assisting to implement patient safety initiatives. Venessa received her Master's of Science in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Olivet Nazarene University in October of 2022. She has been with us in the OR at UCM since 2020. She previously was a travel RN in the operating room at UCLA Medical Center, Mercy Hospital in Miami, and Loyola University. Venessa has extensive charge nurse experience and has a been instrumental to training new charge nurses in the CDOR on night shift with the development of her own training toolkit.
