Perioperative Director
Flushing Hospital Medical Center
About Me
Kathleen Sosnicki MSN, RN, CNOR, Director of Perioperative Services at Flushing Hospital Medical Center.
I began my nursing career in 2007 after earning an Associate of Science degree from Farmingdale State College and becoming a Registered Nurse. I started in medical-surgical nursing, where I built a strong clinical foundation, and in 2009, I discovered my passion for perioperative care and transitioned into the operating room.
Continuing my education has always been important to me. In 2013, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and by 2014, I stepped into leadership as an Operating Room Manager. My drive to lead and improve surgical services led me to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing, which I completed in 2019—the same year I became Director of Perioperative Services.
Today, I focus on creating safe, efficient, and compassionate surgical experiences. I’m passionate about mentoring teams, fostering collaboration, and implementing innovative practices that enhance patient outcomes. For me, leadership is about empowering others and continuously striving for excellence in care.
