Dr. Jen Gassett, DNP, MSN, RN, CNEcl, is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Nursing at Texas Christian University and practiced bedside nursing at an ambulatory surgery center. Her passion for perioperative nursing began while working in Labor & Delivery in a large urban hospital. As team lead for scheduled Cesarean section deliveries, Jen delivered care to patients in all 3 areas of the surgical experience. She is dedicated to helping more students experience operative nursing, which is a specialty many do not consider as a possible career choice upon graduation from the nursing program. Jen obtained her BSN from TCU, her MSN in Nursing Education from Texas Woman's University, and her DNP from the University of Texas at Tyler. She has taught in the clinical setting for 4 years, serves as Course Coordinator for the Adults with Health Alterations I clinical course, and has been a nurse for 13 years.
