Overview/Abstract: Building on the foundation of Blueprint for Change, this session focuses on the critical next phase of cultural transformation in the perioperative environment: embedding and sustaining change. While launching change initiatives addresses immediate cultural pain points—such as bullying, lateral violence, and poor communication—true transformation requires consistent reinforcement, alignment, and accountability.

This presentation will explore strategies to move beyond awareness into full integration, where desired behaviors and values become normalized across teams. Key components include developing psychological safety, leveraging leadership rounding and coaching conversations, reinforcing expectations through feedback loops, and using performance metrics to gauge impact. Attendees will hear real-world examples of what works—and what doesn’t—in maintaining momentum.
