Description: As a Magnet-designated facility, committed to nursing excellence and shared goverance, our procedural nurses preceived a gap in represenation among procedural areas within our existig council structure. Despite the critical role of perioperative and procedural nurses in patient care, these departments lacked a represented voice in organizational decision-making. In response, we designed and implemented a Procedural Nursing Practice Council-an interdisciplinary platform to unify and empower nurses across all procedural settings, including the operating room, preop, PACU, cardiac cath lab areas, endoscopy, interventional radiology, and preanesthesia testing areas. In its inaugural year, the council met its participation goals, launched a collaborative project, and established itself as a vital extension of our shared governance model, promoting engagement, clinical innovation, and professional growth.
